SUMMARY: The Host & Brand Ambassador is the welcoming face of Akumbia Lodge Bed & Breakfast + Museum. This role combines warm hospitality with cultural storytelling and wellness facilitation. Acting as both a guide and representative of our legacy, the Host ensures guests feel at home, connects them to the heritage of the estate, and curates memorable experiences through retreats, events, and healing sessions. They embody the spirit of Preserve, Reimagine, & Share while serving as a bridge between our history, community, and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·      Strong background in hospitality, guest relations, or event hosting.

·      Warm, engaging personality with exceptional communication skills.

·      Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) Ghanaian history, heritage, and wellness practices.

·      Experience in retreats, holistic wellness, or facilitation of group activities is a plus.

·      Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

·      Professional appearance and demeanor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guest Experience & Hospitality

·      Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring a seamless check-in/check-out process.

·       Serve as the main point of contact for guests throughout their stay.

·       Introduce guests to the history and cultural story of the estate.

·       Anticipate guest needs and deliver personalized hospitality.

Retreats & Healing Sessions

·       Coordinate and/or facilitate small group sessions, workshops, and retreats (meditation, storytelling, wellness modalities).

·       Partner with local healers, practitioners, and artists to enrich guest experiences.

Brand Representation

·       Act as a cultural liaison, embodying the values of “Preserve, Reimagine, & Share.”

·       Engage guests through storytelling, guided tours, and curated experiences.

·       Support PR activations, sponsorship events, and media visits.

Community & Events

·       Assist in hosting rooftop lounge evenings, cultural dinners, and private events.

·       Build relationships with local partners, artisans, and cultural leaders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Our property is a boutique Bed & Breakfast + Museum, with six guest rooms across a Main House and Guesthouse, a dedicated staff suite, and the Majestic Breeze Rooftop Bar & Lounge (exclusive to guests). We are more than just a stay, we are a cultural destination, blending hospitality, art, music, and design.
